The roastery

The roast date on every listing comes from an actual roasting operation. This is how it runs.

  1. 01

Green beans arrive and are logged

Each lot is logged with origin, process and arrival date before it goes anywhere near the roaster.

  2. 02

    Roasted in small batches

We roast in small batches rather than one large run, so a bean can go from roaster to listing within days rather than weeks.

  3. 03

Dated and listed the same day

The roast date attached to a bag or a listing is the date it actually came off the roaster — not the date it was packed or shipped.

  4. 04

    Sold within the week

We aim to sell each batch within the week it's roasted. Beans that pass that window are pulled from the shop rather than relisted at the old date.
